EuroSea (2019 - 2023)
EuroSea works to improve the European ocean observing and forecasting system in a global context. EuroSea brings together key European actors of ocean observing and forecasting with users of oceanographic products and services. The EuroSea innovation demonstrators are focused on operational services, ocean health, and climate. EuroSea is a European Union Innovation Action funded through the European Commission research funding programme Horizon 2020 under a call supporting the G7 Future of Seas and Oceans Flagship Initiative.

Task 3.2 Underwater Gliders (task leader: CNRS, partner: WMO), Deliverables D3.9, D3.10, PM1 – PM48:
This task will support EOOS to develop a glider network that is in phase with the results of recent international programs (COST Action EGO; FP7 GROOM, H2020 AtlantOS), the EuroGOOS glider Task Team, and the G7 recommendations for gliders. The main objectives of this task are to improve glider coordination at the European level (providing a technical coordinator) though EuroGOOS and its ROOSes in particular, and to link them to the global activities in order to make them fully integrated in GOOS. Best Practices for glider operations (incl. EOV observations) and data management at the European and global levels will be created. See EuroSea DoW.
